Hi! I grew up in a small town between Roanoke and Floyd called Bent Mountain. Next, I went to middle and high school, and college in Roanoke. Then, I moved to Radford and graduated from Radford University in 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then, I have then taught in Roanoke County, Franklin County, and Roanoke City before coming here to Gilbert Linkous. GLE is my favorite! I love to spend time outdoors, cool art, all kinds of crazy music, and I really love to play Scrabble! I've even won Scrabble tournaments! Most of all, however, I love teaching kids and seeing their minds open up with wonder and understanding.:)

I am thrilled to be teaching fifth grade at GLE! My husband and I moved to Virginia in 2009, and we absolutely love this area. I am a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. My husband and I have five children between the ages of 22 and 16, with three in college! I am a former military wife, so I have lived all over the world. My teaching style is to try to get to know each student and figure out their individual strengths. My goal is to build a learning community where students work cooperatively and learn to motivate one another.
